The Six Human Needs – Now Discover Your Strength And Improve Your Weight Training Plan
An interesting side benefit of creating the Metroflex Gym eBook was the in-depth conversations with many in the US bodybuilding industry. In my conversations with many in the bodybuilding world, several themes come up repeatedly:
1) Funding is scarce. Many bodybuilders lack basic knowledge about finances, personal financial planning, starting a business, etc. This will be addressed in a special report in the coming weeks.
2) Politics. Many people said that sports, especially bodybuilding and bodybuilding, are very “political”. Some people feel that a bad position in a bodybuilding competition will hurt them financially. If anything they say is true, there are still ways to improve your odds of success in the face of less-than-stellar judgement. The outcome of many professional sports games is influenced by politics and not-so-great referees, and there are ways to win in the face of such adversity.
3) Lack of education to think like a business. If bodybuilders aspire to financial reward and fame for their efforts, they must understand how the money is made. There are ways to earn income from one’s involvement in the industry; to earn it, you must consider the business you are involved in.
4) Dealing with people who don’t strive for excellence. This is a big one! Paul Brodeur, the former powerlifting world champion and the first person who introduced me to Metroflex Gym (with Brian over the years) once told me that all great champions do their best Can control the environment. No doubt it was a daunting task, and I often wish I had listened more carefully to his guidance! It may also be a challenge for you as you pursue your dreams. If so, I’ll provide some things that helped me start to get a grip on my environment, and you’re welcome to use them if you find them helpful.
Metroflex Gym wants you to have as many “puzzle pieces” as possible; we want to give you anything we can to help you put those pieces together. Sometimes this requires you to do “sets and reps” targeting a muscle many people don’t want to work: your brain!
In some psychology circles, there is a model based on the so-called “six human needs”:
1) Safety (all aspects)
3) Love and connection
4) Meaning (attention)
While this model may be controversial, I believe it’s an easy-to-remember model that may work for you. Assuming you at least agree with the model of this article, we hope you will benefit from reading the eBook and the companion eBook, as they address six needs by:
1) Security. We want you to have information that is valid for the past 20 years and at least the next 20 years! You will no doubt find something useful to you that we may not have mentioned. If so, let us know so we can test it out and let the rest of the Metroflex Gym family know!
2) Diversity. There are so many fun aspects to weight training and exercising, and you will have them in a variety of ways for the rest of your life. Different training partners, training routines (as described in the book), competitions, increased energy to spend with family and friends, and meeting interesting people are just the beginning of the weight training adventure.
3) Love and connection. We want you to be in the best shape possible to provide health, vitality and vitality to your loved ones and the activities you are passionate about.
4) Importance and attention. While the bonus book on free publicity can help you do just that, we want you to use weight training to help you get the meaning you want. Whether you want a better physique to be more attractive, win a competition or championship, get photographed by a magazine, or simply increase your energy levels and gain newfound respect from your peers, we want you to benefit.
5) Growth. In addition to increasing your lean muscle mass, we want you to grow as a person. Weight training is a great workout, and it has helped many people regain direction in life because of the discipline it takes.
6) Contribute. With so much confusion, we want to give you the best knowledge we have so that you can be an example to others and make their lives better through your efforts.
